GSA Triennial Conferences

The Ghana Studies Association holds a conference every three years at a Ghanaian academic institution as part of its efforts to strengthen connections between Ghana Studies scholarship in the Global North and the South. The last conference was held at the University of Cape Coast from 6 to 9 July 2016. Dubbed ‘Global Ghana’, it brought together 120 researchers—university faculty, graduate students, and independent scholars—from the North America, Europe and Africa. Participants described the conference as a time of collegiality and vibrant intellectual exchange.  ‘Ghana as Center’ was held at the University of Ghana in July 2019. Please join us “Ghana at Crossroads” in Tamale, July 2022.
