Thank you for your interest in the Ghana Studies Association!

 

About us:

GSA is a multidisciplinary organization of scholars based in Africa, North America, Europe and Asia whose research focuses on the the West African state of Ghana. It is a coordinate organization of the African Studies Association.

In addition to meeting at the ASA annual conference, we hold a conference in Ghana every three years.

Membership details:

Membership of the Ghana Studies Association is for a calendar year and includes a copy of Ghana Studies, our journal.

Membership dues are:

  • Africa-based graduate students – $15
  • Africa-based researchers – $30
  • Graduate students outside Africa – $20
  • Researchers outside Africa – $40
  • Lifetime membership – $800

GSA membership registration and dues payment are collected by the African Studies Association (ASA).

How to join:

ASA members can renew their GSA membership through the myASA portal when paying their ASA dues.

If you are not an ASA member and would like to pay for ONLY GSA membership, you will need to create a profile on the myASA page and then select “Coordinate Organizations Registration” from the user menu on the left.

NOTE: Africa-based members who are unable to make payment through Paypal or by credit card please complete the GSA membership form and email it to the Treasurer, Kwabena Opoku-Agyemang at ghanastudies@gmail.com. You will receive instructions on how to make payment.
